Flu vaccinations will be available soon—contact us for more information
The flu vaccination (influenza) is seasonal in Germany, as the circulating virus strains change every year.
The best time to get vaccinated is in October and November, so that sufficient protection has been built up by the start of the main flu season (December–March). As a general rule, as long as the flu season has not yet begun, it is still worth getting vaccinated later in the winter or spring.
The Standing Committee on Vaccination (STIKO) does not recommend flu vaccination for everyone, but specifically for certain groups who are particularly at risk of influenza complications or who should avoid spreading the virus.
Kinder
- Vaccination recommended from 6 months of age if risk factors are present.
- In some countries (e.g., US, UK), vaccination is recommended for all children, but in Germany it is currently only recommended for children at risk.
- Particularly recommended for parents of young children, as infants cannot yet be vaccinated themselves.
